Xbox One November Update Introduces Custom Backgrounds, More

In between breaks of playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, you might want to take a few minutes to update your Xbox One console this weekend. Microsoft on Saturday began rolling out a pretty major update, which focuses on new customization options, new ways to watch TV and some cool SmartGlass improvements.
Going forward, you can easily change to a background of your choice, either from an achievement image or a USB drive; it’s a nice option to have over the plain black that’s been present since the Xbox One launched a year ago. Users can also set a “showcase,” which allows them you mark a handful of achievements and other highlights to show off to friends. You can even Tweet about your favorite game clips with the One’s deep Twitter integration, which also extends to TV trending.
In addition, users can also set location and bio as part of a gamer profile, allowing friends and other Xbox Live users learn more about you. Other features include the ability to snap Internet Explorer, the option to restart the Xbox One and a ton of new SmartGlass features, including the ability to see friends’ game activity, and a better way to browse the Xbox store.
Microsoft has included a handy video detailing all the new features, so check that out for a full run down of what November’s update has to offer.
