MOBILE Sony has already reduced its Xperia Z5 prices in the U.K.

Less than a week after Sony added the new Xperia Z5 lineup to its online store for customers in the U.K., the Japanese company has already made substantial cuts to its pricing that should give the trio a better chance of competing against their rivals.
All three devices in the Xperia Z5 series arrived in the U.K. sporting pretty hefty price tags, which made even the smallest device in the trio — the Xperia Z5 Compact — more expensive than flagship rivals like the Galaxy S6, the HTC One M9, and the LG G4.
But it appears Sony is already listening to criticism from its fans, and it has gone ahead and made substantial cuts to its pricing across the range.
The Xperia Z5 Premium, the most expensive of the three devices thanks to its insanely sharp 4K display, is now priced at £629 (approx. $960) down from £699 (approx. $1,067).The regular Xperia Z5 is now priced at £549 (approx. $838) down from £599 (approx. $914).
The Xperia Z5 Compact, which packs high-end specifications into a manageable form factor with a 4.7-inch 720p display, is now priced at £429 (approx. $670) down from £549 (approx. $838).
These prices put Sony’s online store in line with third-party retailers like, which suggests Sony may have listed its devices with incorrect pricing initially. Either way, it’s good to see those prices cut before the Xperia Z5 lineup actually makes its debut.
